Bonjour fashion lovers.
I have just finished watching – or better, rewatching – Woody Allen’s 2023 film Coup de Chance. Why did I watch it again? Honestly, I cannot give a precise answer to this question I keep asking myself, but I can say that I love Allen’s fast-paced dialogue, that my Paris has never looked more glamorous, and that the main character has such an incredible style that she won me over immediately.
Fanny (played by Lou de Laâge) is a young woman who works for an art gallery and is married to a billionaire with a mysterious job. He spoils her with expensive gifts, floods her with compliments and attention (to the point of suffocating her), and treats her like a trophy wife. In short, they are a wealthy couple living in the heart of Paris, in a classic Haussmann apartment with ceiling moldings and herringbone parquet floors. They attend exclusive parties and spend their weekends in a villa surrounded by greenery (I believe it is in Burgundy), where he loves to go hunting and she is terribly bored.

One day she runs into an old high school classmate who had always been in love with her, and she starts an intense, sincere relationship that will push her to question her entire life, right up until his sudden disappearance. I will stop here with the plot and go back to talking about fashion.
As I was saying, I love her style from the very first shots: a white turtleneck with a navy, sailor-style jacket with gold buttons, a ponytail, and a camel–orange Birkin bag that she often carries while walking through the Parisian rues (or my rues…). Or a classic trench coat with jeans, a single-button blazer with jeans and a Hermès Della Cavalleria Mini II shoulder bag (which I love so much), and then, of course, the Cartier Tank watch, always worn with great class and unmistakable Parisian charm.
Rewatching the film truly did me good. It allowed me to savor once again all those Parisian details I miss so much. And yes, I really do miss them.
Always fashion. Always black. Always Paris. Emanuela
