Bonjour fashion lovers.
I woke up this morning, bright and early, and what do I read among the trending fashion news? Alberta Ferretti, my beloved Alberta Ferretti, is stepping down as the creative director of her eponymous fashion house. This departure (I don't know if that's the right word, but that's how I feel) came as a bolt from the blue. We don't know the reasons behind such a decision, reasons that should certainly be respected, but I'm deeply saddened.
Of course, Alberta Ferretti has stated that she will remain as vice president of Aeffe Spa, which owns not only her brand but also Moschino and Philosophy by Lorenzo Serafini and Pollini.
In her statement, Alberta Ferretti tells us: "It's been 43 years since my first fashion show. The enthusiasm and passion I have for my work and for fashion are unchanged, but I believe that at this point in my career it is a right and conscious choice to open the way to a new creative chapter for the brand that I founded and that will continue to bear my name."
We don't know who will have the difficult task of carrying on the essence of the Ferretti brand, but I can say, without fear of being contradicted, that we will miss the understated and refined elegance that has been a source of inspiration for me as a woman.
I adore you, Alberta Ferretti.
xoxo
