Walter Albini is coming back!

Walter Albini is coming back. Walter Albini, regarded by many as the "Italian Yves Saint Laurent," was a contemporary of Karl Lagerfeld but also of Andy Wahrol. Walter Albini was the first Italian superstar fashion designer, a brilliant personality, Revolutionary, mercurial, daring, and above all brilliant. He gave birth to a contemporary and current style. He combined fashion with industry by giving mass-produced clothing that perfect touch of ready-to-wear glam. And he was among the first to leave the crystal chandeliers of the Sala Bianca of Palazzo Pitti in Florence to choose to show in Milan, the city of design and avant-garde art, anticipating the path of contemporary fashion.

His meeting with Mariuccia Mendelli (aka the fashion designer Krizia ), to whom he would give, as a thank you for the dinner offered, a folder full of his own designs, was crucial. Seeing the drawings, Mariuccia instantly fell in love with him and called him to work with her in Milan. The way is open for collaborations with other companies-Billy Ballo, Cadette, Cole of California, Gianni Baldini, Glans and Paola Signorini.

Albini soon understood the importance of creating a unified style, a total look in which the buyer could recognize himself. From this conviction, comes the great (and maniacal) attention to detail, convinced that "the accessory comes absolutely before the dress, an element of secondary importance."  The 1971 fashion show was revolutionary where he paraded 180 models divided into 140 outings, all bearing the label marked "Walter Albini for..." A true forerunner of the times!
