Bonjour fashion lovers.
The hottest fashion news in the last few hours? Simple: Marc Jacobs is the guest editor of Vogue's December issue.
The news spread like wildfire across the web, becoming more viral than ever. And how could it not? For the first time, Anna Wintour stepped aside to make room for Marc Jacobs, who initially, as he wrote in a handwritten letter for Vogue, didn't want to accept, not considering himself up to the task of creating a magazine (and what a magazine!).
But, luckily for us, he accepted, thinking that perhaps it wouldn't be so different from designing a collection. The result has been, to say the least, fantastic.
We have a creative, colorful, modern Vogue issue, full of dance, beauty, and fashion! On the cover, or rather the two covers (one photographed by Steven Meisel and the other drawn by the artist Anna Weyant), Marc Jacobs chose Kaia Gerber wearing pieces from his fall/winter 2024 collection (which I loved from the start): cotton candy hair, bold and colorful makeup, platform shoes, jackets with oversized sleeves, all as if we were in a doll's world.
Seeing behind the scenes of the work that went into creating the December issue of Vogue, there's no doubt that there couldn't have been a better choice.
Can we expect to see more guest editors take the helm of Vogue in the future?
xoxo
