I have always disliked long nails. i find them absolutely lacking in style and class. I have never succumbed to the long nail trend and I am happy with this new trend. 

If women of great charm and elegance such as Grace Kelly, Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn and, to stay in our time, Sarah Jessica Parker aka Carrie always opted for short nails, maybe there is a reason. 

We need elegance so much.
