Bonjour fashion lovers!
The marathon of fashion weeks has just ended, and after following and commenting on it with you all on IG, here's the video of Celine's SS25 collection by Hedi Slimane.
This is Hedi Slimane's last collection for Celine before his departure from the French Maison and the arrival of Michael Rider in his place.
I was absolutely enchanted by it: it's perhaps Slimane's most successful collection, where we find that way of reinventing women's dressing of Madame Coco's later years. Yes, you read that right, I'm talking about Madame Coco and her aesthetic that wanted bourgeois women, refined and free to decide for themselves. Slimane proves with this collection to be the perfect creative director for the Maison Chanel, as predicted by Karl Lagerfeld, but apparently (according to rumors circulating as I write this) Hedi Slimane did not find the right agreement with the Wertheimer family, owners of Chanel, leaving everyone very perplexed.
The hope that there could be a change of heart is always present.
I almost forgot, for some, the fall of the 18th-century chandeliers would represent the implosion of the fashion world.
Leaving all that aside, let's enjoy Hedi Slimane's last collection for Celine.
See you in the next article.
xoxo
